PASTORAL COUNSELING

MARRIAGE
Please contact the rectory for an appointment at least six months in advance of your wedding and before any other arrangements in order to set a date and avoid any disappointment. Only members of the priest staff may enter the date for the celebration of a wedding. Dates will be finalized only after a member of the priest staff has met with the engaged couple, taking care of necessary paper work and arranging for their participation in a marriage preparation program.
Weddings are scheduled with respect to the couple's wishes and the availability of the church building and parish ministers. Generally, we schedule no more than 2 weddings per weekend. Weddings are usually scheduled on:
Saturdays at 1:00 PM or 3:00 PM.
For exceptional reasons weddings may be scheduled on Friday afternoon/evening, or on Sunday afternoon. Please view the calendar to see currently scheduled weddings. More requirements can also be found in our wedding guidelines.

RELIGIOUS EDUCATION
Registration for the Religious Ed. Classes for
the next year is now open. Please contact Aura
Martinez, the Director of Religious Education
at St. Josaphat, to sign up your child. Aura’s

may contact her at the Parish office at 773-327-
8955. Please bear in mind that if you have a
child in 6th grade or above that this is the time
to register for Confirmation, which will take
place in 2009.
There are 2 years of preparation necessary for
the Sacrament of Confirmation and First Communion.

INFANT BAPTISM
Baptisms are celebrated on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month at 11a.m., and the 2nd Sunday of the month at 1:30p.m., and the 4th Sunday of the month at one of the weekend masses. Baptismal preparation class takes place the second Monday of each month at 7:00p.m. in the rectory. Please call the rectory to schedule a baptism or to register for baptismal preparation class. Saturday: 4:15 to 4:45 p.m.; or call for an appointment.
